Receiverships

When a business collapses, we represent receivers appointed by the court. Our work involves the investigation, prosecution and defense of claims, the recovery, preservation and liquidation of assets, and the resolution of liabilities. We help receivers formulate and execute strategies to maximize recoveries.

We spent years representing and advising the receiver in two highly publicized payday lending cases, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau v. Moseley, Case No. 4:14-cv-00789, United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and Federal Trade Commission v. AMG Services, Inc., Case No. 2:12-cv-536, United States District Court for the District of Nevada. Most recently, we represented the receiver of a company that made short-term debt investments to small and medium businesses in Hatton v. SureFunding, LLC, Case No. A-20-812651-B, Dept. 13, Eighth Judicial District Court, Clark County, Nevada.

Based in Johnson County, Kansas, GeigerLaw serves clients throughout the Kansas City area, in both Kansas and Missouri. To talk with us about a receivership, please call 913.777.7681.
